(承前2010-07-21記事)2010-07-11のWall Street Journal は、Googleに対する中国政府の措置について、「China Renews Google’s License」と題して、次のように述べている(SANARI PATENT要約)。
(1) Chinese authorities said they renewed a license needed by Google Inc. to continue using its Chinese Web address, despite of months of tensions over censorship requirements.
(2) The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology approved the renewal application by the operator of Google’s China website. Beijing Guxiang Information Technology Co.(SANARI PATENT注:北京谷翔情報技術公司), after the company submitted a letter pledging to “abide by Chinese law,” and “ensure the company provides no law-breaking content,” according to a report by China’s state-run Xinhua News Agency (SANARI PATENT注: 中国国営・新華社通信の報道を引用している)on Sunday. The report said Guxiang also “accepted that all content it provides is subject to supervision of government regulators.”
(3) The decision preserves the search giant’s toehold in the most internet users.(SANARI PATENT考察:この「most」すなわち、大多数の、ないし最多数の、という限定の意味は示されていないが、SANARI PATENTは、「中国国軍内部は別」という意味に解する)。But t won’t end the uncertainty around Google’s future in China because Beijing can revoke the licence at any time or block access to Google’s services.
(4) “Our operations in China are completely at the direction of the Chinese government. I don’t want anyone to be confused about that,” Google Chief Executive Erc Schmidt said at a news conference Thursday after announcing he expected the license to be renewed.(以下2010-07-23)
